The transfer has been rumoured for quite a while now, but today DFB-Pokal champions VfL Wolfsburg officially announced the signing of Bruno Henrique from Goiás Esporte Club on their club homepage. The 25-year-old forward has signed a contract until 2019 with the Wolves and will wear the number 16 from now on. The Brazilian scored seven goals and assisted 10 more this past season for Goiás. The exact transfer fee remains unknown.

Henrique is looking forward to his new challenge in Wolfsburg and told the club's official homepage that it was always one of his dreams to play in Germany. The talented forward also stated that the Bundesliga is "one of the strongest leagues in the world" and that he will do everything he can to "get to know his new surroundings as soon as possible." The Brazilian wants to be able to "help the team [Wolfsburg] promptly."

Both Hecking and Allofs are happy with the signing

Head Coach Dieter Hecking has also talked to the club's official homepage and is happy with the newest addition to the squad. He believes that their attack has now become "even more variable" and that the first step must be "to help Henrique integrate" and show as much as support possible when it comes to all the changes a big move like this includes.

Allofs pointed out that he is "happy that they [Wolfsburg] were able to reach an agreement" with the Brazilian club.

Henrique as a last-minute solution?

Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs  was desperately looking for a new striker after the shocking news that Bas Dost won't be able to compete for six weeks. The Wolves originally wanted to sign Breel Embolo from FC Basel, but their bid of €28m was denied by club officials. Wolfsburg announced the signing of  Nigerian talent Victor Osimhen just yesterday, but the 17-year-old forward won't join the club until 2017.
