Late on Saturday evening, the DFB held the draw for the opening round of the DFB-Pokal first round.
There were some interesting ties thrown up - some of which will already be penciled in as potential away trips for the top division clubs.
The glamour ties for the smaller sides were, of course, ensured, in what looks to be a very interesting start to the 2016-17 competition.
Games to watch out for
The first match-up to come out of the hat involved last year's runner-up, Borussia Dortmund, who will travel to SV Eintracht Trier.
Bayern Munich, 2016 winners, take to the road to face FC Carl Zeiss Jena. The latter dumped HSV out in the first round last year - will we see a repeat performance?
As for some of the more interesting ties further down the pyramid, there are two all 2. Bundesliga clashes to look forward to.
Newly-promoted Würzburger Kickers take on Eintracht Braunschweig, while 1860 München play host to Karlsruher SC.
The tie of the round, though, features two East German clubs. Dynamo Dresden face RB Leipzig in a culture clash sure to produce some heated moments.
