Week 33 kicked off with Parma’s third home win in a row as they defeated Cagliari. Parma have now won their last two games scoring five goals and held two clean sheets, this win over Cagliari came after seven games without a win against the team from Sardinia in all competitions. Sebastian Giovinco scored his twelfth goal of the season raising his tally to 12 goals and seven assists which is 43% of his team’s goals this season. On the other hand Cagliari have now lost their last five away games and they failed to score in seven of the last eight outgoing matches.

At the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi stadium Chievo reduced Udinese’s hope of clinching a Champions League spot as the two teams drew 0-0. Chievo are without a win in their last two fixtures as they failed to score in both, while Udinese are unable to grab a win in the last five away Serie A matches so does their Captain Antonio Di Natale as he failed to score in the five games. Chievo did not beat Udinese at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi stadium since November 2006.

After two losses in a row Catania got back to the winning road as they defeated Atalanta 2-0. The two sides have drawn in their last three head to head games. La Dea have faced three losses in their last four games now. Note that German Denis did not score since his hat-trick against Roma in February.

At the San Paolo stadium finally Napoli captured a win after failing to grab any in five games in a row and losing the last three, Napoli got a clean sheet after conceding in seven fixtures in a row. Novara have now failed to win 10 of their last 12 away Serie A matches, and they have not scored in the last two. Note that Edison Cavani scored his 29th goal of the season in all competitions only Serie A player to exceed him is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. El Matador has also attempted 10 shots at this game which is a new record in this campaign for any player.

Fiorentina failed to score against the team they bag the most amount of goals against in top-flight (180 goals). While Inter got their first clean sheet with Andrea Stramaccioni as the head coach and their seventh clean sheet against Fiorentina in their last 10 head to head games. Inter are still unbeaten with Stramaccioni with two wins and two draws, while la Viola failed to score in their last two games and they won only once in the last eight fixtures. Note this is the first match for Stramaccioni with Inter that does not witness any red cards from both sides, also Inter conceded 10 penalties in this campaign five of them were awraded by referee Paolo Valeri.

Siena got their biggest win of this campaign over the struggling Genoa when they won 4-1. For the fourth time Siena scored four goals in the same game that’s a new offensive record for them as they never scored four goals more than twice in all their past Serie A campaigns. Youngster Mattia Destro has scored four goals in his last five games for Siena, the Bianconeri have now won three of their last four encounters. While Genoa failed to grab any win in their 12 previous matches and they got only one clean sheet in the last 21 games remaining the worst defense in Serie A conceding 62 goals.

Cesena got their fifth draw in a row after facing Palermo at the Dino Manuzzi stadium, Cesena are now without a single win in their previous 15 encounters, while Palermo got only one win in their last nine games. Cesena still hold the worst offense in Serie A scoring 21 goals, and alongside Bologna they are the least sides with different players scoring for them (only 10).

Lecce continued their impressive results as they stole a point in the dying minutes from the Olimpico Stadium after Valeri Bojinov scored his first goal since returning to his former team from Sporting Lisbon, Lecce are now unbeaten in their previous six fixtures and they only lost once in the last 12. Lazio drew for the first time in 2012, the Biancocelesti have not been in consistent form lately knowing that the last time a striker scored for the Eagles was back in February and the goal was scored by the player who will miss the rest of the season Miroslav Klose.

On his 35th birthday Mark van Bommel might have just lost his team the hope to win the Scudetto after his fatal mistake against Bologna, the game ended in a 1-1 draw as Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the equalizer in the dying minutes of the game, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now leading in the Capocannoniere race with 24 goals and is the most player directly involved in his side’s goals with 41 goals in all competitions this season. Although AC Milan won only one game in their last four encounters they still hold the strongest offense in Serie A, on the other hand Bologna failed to win in their last three away games and only scored one goal.

Conte’s Juventus is still unstoppable as they got their biggest win on the Juventus stadium this round with a 4-0 win over Roma. Juventus are now unbeaten in 38 games in all competitions, they won the last six games in a row and they got six clean sheet in their last seven Serie A games. The Old Lady now has the best “Goal Difference” in Serie A with 39 goals exceeding AC Milan by three. The Bianconeri hold the strongest defense in Serie A with the rate of 0.55 goals per game as they conceded only 18 goals in 33 games. When any of the three midfielders Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal or Claudio Marchisio score Juventus always win. Note that Arturo Vidal scored his first brace in Serie A and is only the second player this campaign to score a brace in the first 10 minutes. This was the fourth game for Juventus being refereed with Mauro Bergonzi, all four games ended in a Juventus win without conceding any goals. On the other hand this was the most humiliating loss for Roma this season and the Giallorossi have not won except one game in their last eight away fixtures.
