Serie A kicked off with a game at the Sant'Elia Stadium between Cagliari and Catania. Cagliari were able to humiliate the side from east coast of Sicily as they’ve beaten them 3-0. The Rossoblu are unbeaten in their last four home games with three wins and three clean sheets. On the other hand Catania have failed to win five of their last six encounters in Serie A. Note that Cagliari’s Capocannoniere Mauricio Pinilla has scored six goals in his last six fixtures with the Isolani.

At the Bergamo stadium Atalanta defeated Chievo 1-0 with the goal of Maximiliano Moralez, the Argentinean has scored his first home goal for Atalanta since joining from Vélez Sársfield knowing that the player has scored five goals earlier this season. La Dea have now won their second game of the last three, while the Flying Donkeys are without a win in their last three games and they failed to score in any of them.

Lazio again failed to convince they could grab the Champions League qualification spot as they lost to bottom side Novara. The Biancocelesti have lost their last six matches away from the Olimpico Stadium, only this time the loss came at the hands of the team with the second most losses in Serie A this season. This was Novara’s first win after five games in a row failing to grab one; three of Novara’s last four wins were against Inter, Udinese and Roma.

Napoli grabbed their second win a row this time against Lecce in the Via del Mare stadium, Marek Hamsik scored his first goal in April, while the second was scored by El Matador Edison Cavani who scored for the second week in a row, and twenty first of the season surpassing Antonio Di Natale and Diego Milito only behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the Capocannoniere title. Lecce suffered only their second loss in 13 games and note that last time Napoli have beaten Lecce awat from Naples was 18 years ago.

Parma became the sixth team this season to beat Palermo at the Renzo Barbera stadium; Parma grabbed their fourth win in the last five games, on the other hand Palermo failed to win in nine of their last 10 Serie A encounters. Stefano Okaka Chuka scored for the second week in a row, Jonathan Biabiany scored his first goal since January while the atomic ant Sebastian Giovinco raised his tally after his assist to 12 goals and eight assists which is 43.5% of Parma’s goals this season.

After beating AC Milan at the San Siro, drawing Inter Milan at the Artemio Franchi, they surprise again by beating Roma at the Olimpico stadium. Stevan Jovetic opened the score line with a beautiful header raising his tally to 14 goals and three assists 50% of Fiorentina’s goals this season. Fiorentina are now unbeaten in their last 4 games, while Roma lost three of their last four. Note that with Pablo Osvaldo’s red card now Roma are the team with the most red cards along with Cesena in this campaign.

The game between Siena and Bologna ended in a 1-1 draw, Mattia Destro scored the first goal of the game, the youngster was directly involved in six goals in the last six games by scoring five and assisting one. Then the equalizer came through Alessandro Diamanti who was also directly involved in three goals in the last three games by scoring twice and assisting a goal. The Bianconeri have lost only once in six games, while the Rossoblu are unbeaten in their last four games.

 

Udinese suffered their second home loss of the season the first was against AC Milan, the second was against their rival from the same city Inter Milan, Diego Milito assisted two goals raising his tally to 20 goals and three assists this season 46% of Inter Milan’s goals this campaign. Milito scored six and assisted two goals in the last five games. Inter Milan are still unbeaten with Andrea Stramaccioni, while Udinese won once in their last seven Serie A fixtures.

At the San Siro Kevin Prince Boateng stole the only goal of the game in the 86th minute to give AC Milan the victory they needed to continue chasing Juventus. Luigi De Canio suffered a loss from his match as a Genoa coach, The Rossoblu are now without a victory in the last 13 games, holding the worst defense with 63 goals. On the other hand AC Milan are still by far the strongest offense in Serie A with 64 goals.

The unstoppable Juventus got their seventh win in row after beating Cesena. The game between top and bottom of Serie A ended in a 1-0 win for the Old lady. After this loss Cesena are officially relegated to Serie B holding the worst offense in Serie A (failed to shoot any ball on target) and suffering the most losses. Juventus’ goal was scored by Marco Borriello his first of the season and his first in Serie A after 339 days. Now there are 18 different players who scored for Juventus more than any other team, La Vecchia Signora got seven clean sheets in the last eight games holding the strongest defense conceding only 18 goals in 34 games. Conte’s boys now have the best goal difference with +40 goals and they just leveled Fabio Capello’s AC Milan record back in 91’ season with 34 games unbeaten.
