Initially expected to be played in China & approximately only 2 months away, the Italian Super Cup is still without a set date or venue.

Three of Italy's biggest newspapers, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Corriere dello Sport & Tuttosport, have all mentioned a dispute between the Lazio & Juventus boards over when & where the Italian Super Cup is to be played.

Lazio would prefer the trophy be handed out in Beijing, China, where they expect to capitalize on revenues worth approximately 3.3m, a decision which does not suit Juventus who have already agreed to an American tour that will see them participate alongside the likes of Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, Everton, Chelsea, AC Milan, Valencia and Inter Milan in the Guinness International Champions Cup whose dates may coincide with that of the Super Cup.

"There aren't any objective reasons to not go to China, I rejected a South American tour worth 2m just so that the rules could be respected." said Lazio president, Claudio Lotito.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli replied back with the following words "There are no obligations to play the Super Cup in China, the Lega have agreed to play 3 editions of the Cup in China by 2016 & 2 have already been played there, so why not play it in China next year? or the year after?"

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are ready to compromise Lazio given that the Biancoceleste decide to give up on the Chinese venue. Furthermore, the Italian newspaper reports that Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has agreed to hand Lazio a few 100,000 if they agree to play the match in the U.S.A. Juventus are also open to the option of playing the Cup match in Italy and are also willing to let Lazio play the match in their Stadio Olimpico, which is much larger than the Juventus Stadium, in the aim of maximizing revenue from ticket sales.
