Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani has moved one step closer to leaving Napoli as the club have confirmed that they are in talks with Chelsea over his transfer.

Napoli President De Laurentiis told Radio Marte "There is interest from Chelsea in Cavani, and they'll call me in the next few hours.”  Cavani has a release clause of €63 million and, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea would be willing to meet this price in order to ensure his purchase.

Although De Laurentiis stated he would be delighted for Cavani to stay, he has assured the fans that a solution will be found if, as expected, the striker leaves.  Live on Radio Marte he confirmed that “If he leaves then he will be adequately replaced”.
