According to reports from il Corriere dello Sport, Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael Cabral is close to signing for Napoli.  The Italian paper reports that the Brazilian international will sign a 5 year contract in a move worth €5 million.

Rafael’s agent was quoted in Brazilian sports paper Lance as saying that “Rafael has decided on Napoli and negotiations are going positively and will sign soon.”  The agent, Paolo Alfonso, also added that a conversation between his client and new manager Rafael Benitez had been crucial in Rafael’s decision to choose Napoli over rivals A.S. Roma.

The 23 year old, who has made 114 appearances for club side Santos, would be expected to claim the number 1 shirt, pushing current goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis into reserve.
