The Spanish winger is in Naples and will undergo a medical tomorrow.
Negotiations have been ongoing for some weeks but a deal has now been finalised with il Corriere dello Sport reporting that the player will move from Real Madrid for a fee of €10 million. The paper speculates that the player will be receiving a significant increase in his salary which will see his wages rise from €2.1 million to €3.5 million a year.
Although these figures have yet to be confirmed, the player’s arrival was officially announced on the club website earlier this afternoon: “Early this afternoon Jose Maria Callejon landed in Naples. Tomorrow morning he will undergo a medical.”
Callejon made 40 appearances for the Spanish giants last season but arrives at the specific request of new manager Rafael Benitez.
