With the transfer window here and all it's rumors of player X moving to any club with money to spend, we are roughly halfway through the market. Therefore, it is time for a recap of all the main dealings for last year's top 3 in Italy.

Juventus

After another title winning season, 'La Vecchia Signora' have done what all champions do, which is to improve and develop. Their most important signings have been in the attacking area, with Fernando Llorente coming in on a costless transfer and Carlos Tevez from Manchester City. These signings will greatly improve the fairly weak Juventus attack, as their top-scorer last season was  midfielder Arturo Vidal. Llorente is a massive threat in the air and good at holding the ball up. Tevez will suit Juve superbly with his great technical skills, combined with his running and hard work. Defender Angelo Ogbonna, from rivals Torino, also arrived to improve an already great defence. He will offer a bigger challenge to Barzagli and Chiellini for starting spots, whilst also offering good depth as they hope to challenge seriously in the Champions League.

Napoli

Everyone knew there would be change at when Rafael Benitez became manager. They were also ready for another Edison Cavani transfer saga, like last season when he was extremely close to leaving. Napoli's transfer window has revolved around Cavani, as they had to find sufficient replacements for him when he left for PSG. Napoli have replaced Cavani well by buying a lot of good players who will have medium contributions to the team, and they will accumulate to replace Cavani's massive contributions. It's fair to say Napoli were often dependent on Cavani, even with players like Hamisk and Lavezzi, when he played for Napoli. They have replaced Cavani with wingers Dries Mertens from PSV and José Callejón from Real Madrid, furthermore another player from Real Madrid and who'll be Cavani's direct replacement, striker Gonzalo Higuaín. Higuain is definitely not as good as Cavani, but the other attacking players Napoli have such as Hamsik, Insigne and these other two signings will  make up for that. In defence, Napoli have got yet another Real Madrid player, Raúl Albiol. He could slot into right back to accommodate Benitez's favored 4-2-3-1. It's also likely they will sign Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina on loan, after Morgan De Sanctis left for Roma.

A.C Milan

Unlike last year, there's more optimism amongst Milanisti, where star players such as Thiago Silva were sold last year. However, now there is less need for Milan to sell and the only first team players to leave are  Mathieu Flamini, Bojan and Ambrosini, who'll be greatly missed. Coming in, Milan have only signed defender Jherson Vergara Amú midfielder Andrea Poli, who adds much needed quality to the midfield. In brief, he is a box to box or a more defensive/deep-lying midfielder, and can pass the ball well. Remind you of anyone? There is also interest in attacking midfielders Keisuke Honda and Adem Ljajić from Fiorentina. Although, for these deals to potentially happen, Milan need to get rid of the burdens who are Kevin-Prince Boateng and Robinho to fund the deals. The Rossoneri will hope these deals will happen, as there's nothing worse than watching a team play 4-3-1-2 without a proper trequartista. Trust me.
