Fiorentina president, Andrea Della Valle, has told reporters that Adem Ljajic will be sold if he refuses to renew his contract with Fiorentina.  Ljajic reportedly wants yearly waged increased from £750 000 to £2 million per year.

Della Valle stated: “I hope he stays as he is a future star who can give a lot to Fiorentina. We are aware of his qualities, but certain evaluations need to be made when talking about salaries. Fiorentina will make their evaluation and I hope the player understands our offer. If he doesn’t accept a new contract then he will be sold. There will not be another Riccardo Montolivo situation."

The president also revealed that offers have been made for the player, but did not match the club's evaluation: the offers we have received do not match the player’s value. I spoke with the player this morning, he seems calm and expressed his desire to remain in Florence. We’ll now meet with his agent next week.” It has been reported that A.C. Milan have made an offer for Ljajic.

Fiorentina manager, Vincenzo Montella, has previosly told La Gazzetta dello Sport: " Ljajic experiencing an internal conflict. He has not looked very happy in recent days. What can I say, there are economic problems which are not easy. I'm willing to wait, just as long as he's serene, and today he doesn't look all that serene. I'm still convinced that staying with us would be the best solution for him."

The 21 year old enjoyed an impressive 2012/13 Serie A campaign, scoring a career best of 11 goals in 28 league games.
