Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal, is set to sign an improved contract at Juventus, according Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio. The new contract will run to 2018, and include numerous performance related bonuses which could double his wages.

Vidal was previously linked with Real Madrid this summer, and according to Kicker, they were willing to offer £43 million for the Chilean. However, Vidal stated that he was happy in Italy: "I am honoured that Real Madrid wanted me, but I am happy at Juventus; I feel like this is my home. It is an honour to be linked to a club like Real Madrid, it means that I have played well. But at the moment I am focused only on giving my best for the Bianconeri jersey... Juve is my home."

Arturo Vidal has been an integral member the MVP midfield, which has inspired Juventus to consecutive Serie A titles, since he arrived at the club in 2011 for £9 million. Last season, the 26 year old was Juve's best player, scoring 15 goals and setting up a further 11 goals in all competitions.

Vidal has stated that he still has a lot to achieve at Juventus, despite already winning two Scudetti: "The two Scudetti and Italian Supercup are my only trophies with Juventus so far, so there is still room for the Champions League."
