After a hailstorm in Istanbul, the Galatasaray vs. Juventus game has been abandoned due to an unplayable surface. The match was halted in the 32nd minute by the officials, which could mean that the game will have to be played next week, rather than, as widely expected, tomorrow night.

The first fifthteen minutes of the game were largely dominated by Galatasaray. However, despite the home side's efforts to stamp their authority on proceedings, it was Juventus who had the first real chance of the game. After Carlos Tevez found Arturo Vidal overlapping on the right hand side, the Chilean international whipped the ball the penalty area. Vidal's cross was met by Llorente, who after a sumptuous first touch, watched his oscillating volley go inches wide of the left post.

With the heavens opening and hail beginning to pigment the pitch, the decision was taken to change the ball from white to the classic orange. The introduction of the orange ball did little to help the ever-worsening conditions however, and with the lines of the pitch becoming less and less visible, the decision was taken by the officials to stop the game.

In truth, the suspension of play was the most exciting moment of the game up to that point. Both sides struggled to throughout to keep possession and assert any amount of authority on the match.

A decision has yet to be made as to when the game will take place.
