"I work so hard, but if you don't score you're nobody'" said Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne recently in an interview. The 22-year-old was talking to Radio Kiss Kiss when he admitted his distaste for the way he had been treated by many Napoli fans as of late.

Insigne, who was born in Naples, has recently been jeered by fans. As the club is close to his heart, he takes it very personally indeed. "The fans are unusual, as they only see who scores and often don't see what players do for the team". He added '"At Napoli, if you're a striker and you don't score, then you're nobody."

He went on further to discuss his positional change to a winger this season under Rafael Benitez, and how it has affected his game. "At the start I had a few difficulties, but now I am gaining confidence and beginning to perform this role better and better." He then continued to say "Of course I won't disguise the fact I want to play closer to goal."

However, he is not giving up on Napoli fans, as he is still a favourite with many among the stands at the Stadio Sao Paolo. "I want to tell the fans we will continue fighting for second place to the end of the season".

So, with Insigne not happy with the treatment he is receiving off the fans of his boyhood club, who knows what cards the youngster has on the table? Perhaps a transfer to the Premier League, or maybe he'd prefer to stay local, and continue playing in Serie A, but ultimately, it's up to Napoli manager and former Liverpool boss Benitez.
