Brazil and Fluminense striker, Fred, has expressed his desire to play in Europe again.

The 30-year-old has played in Europe before, at Lyon, where he played for 4 years. He has revealed several approaches came from Italy after the Confederations Cup but no concrete offer followed. He has often been linked with Inter Milan, but especially so last summer. And despite a change in ownership at Nerazzurri, the club are rumoured to still have interested in the striker.

Earlier this week, Fred told Gazzetta Dello Sport: "There was an approach after the Confederations Cup,"

“They met with my brother who is also my agent. Previously Lazio, Napoli and Roma had held talks with my club but no concrete offer ever came.

“Inter are one of the big clubs, where greats have played like Ronaldo and Adriano. I follow the Leagues in Italy, Spain, England. Especially Serie A.

“I’d like to play there. Besides Inter I see a lot of games that Napoli and Juventus play, they are very strong. There are very good for me to score many goals."

The forward will be hoping to triumph on home soil at the World Cup this summer, but after the World Cup deals could be done. A return to Europe is looking increasingly likely.

“After the World Cup then? I do not know how things will go. I am happy at Fluminense. A few years ago I thought my future would be only in Brazil. But now I see a possible return to Europe.”
