AS Roma are unable to provide the expenses to lure Manchester City left-back, Aleksandar Kolarov, to the Stadio Olimpico next season. The Serbian is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad and there is little sign of a renewal on the table for him as it stands. Like any player in his situation, Kolarov has been subject of transfer talk within the press as to where his future lies.

However, in an interview with AS Roma Radio, the players' representitive Dejan Joksimovic was quick to play down any lingering rumours that the Serb could be heading to Italy's capital.

"I can tell you that Roma are following him but there are problems." said Joksimovic, when questioned on his clients future. "Firstly, he has a contract for €3.5 million for another year with Manchester City so it would be difficult because Rome cannot pay these figures."

Whilst he was quick to brush aside the financial capabilites of Roma, Kolarov's agent also dropped further clues on other clubs interested in acquiring his services.

"There are other teams that are following him like AC Milan, Juventus, Inter, Monaco and also a few Russian teams are now also willing to pay his wages. So for now we do not know anything and there is nothing concrete." stated further by Joksimovic in regards to the twenty-eight year olds future.

If Kolarov's agent is to be believed, his client is in demand. It is unknown whether Manchester City will opt to extend Kolarov's stay in the North-West, who has made twenty-seven appearances this term. It remains to be seen who Pelligrini's preferred choice is for the role, with Gael Clichy seemingly being the preferred option. It wouldn't come as much of a surprise if the agent was talking up many clubs chasing Kolarov to enhance the fees he will gain personally, or putting him in the 'shop-window' and a more appealing option. It's likely to be a big summer for the Serbian left-back, who will need to consider his options wisely.
