Palermo have reached an agreement to sign free agent Souleymane "Sol" Bamba on a three year deal after the defender left Turkish outfit Trabzonspor this summer. The defender underwent a medical earlier this week.

Palermo CEO, Andrea Cardinaletti told the clubs site "I welcome Bamba, we are happy that he is now part of the rosanero."

Bamba, formerly of now Scottish third tier side Dunfermline Athletic, featured in all three of Ivory Coast's World Cup group stage where they were prematurely knocked out.

The commanding, 6ft 3" centre-back will wear the number twenty-two shirt while at the Sicilian club.

Palermo kick start their Serie A campaign against Sampdoria this Sunday at home and Bamba will likely be given his first run out.
