Three games into the 2014/15 Serie A season and two teams, Juventus and Roma are the only sides with both maximum points and clean sheet records. Roma haven’t conceded. Rudi Garcia’s side have beat Fiorentina 2-0 at home, newly-promoted Empoli 1-0 away and this past weekend beat Cagliari 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico. They also recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory against CSKA Moscow in their first Champion’s League group game of the season. Meanwhile Massimiliano Allegri's men have victories over Chievo (1-0), Udinese (2-0) and Milan (1-0) to boast about.

With Napoli seemingly in a mini-crisis having lost two of their three opening games, and both AC Milan and Internazionale in the middle of rebuilding it would seem that this season will be a two-horse race. However in a recent interview Garcia has stated that “We cannot say that it is a title race between Roma and Juventus after just three games,”. He also stated that “I think there are several teams who could still challenge for the trophy but we’ll see.”

He has also been quoted as saying that his team should focus on themselves and that “Roma are the most important thing to me. We want to get three points every tim we get on the pitch.” He has however accepted the fact that Roma have made a terrific start to this campaign; “At the end of the day we are top of the table with nine points, not having conceded any goals so far this season. All these figures suggest that we made a good start to the campaign so far.”
