Juventus' struggles in Europe are well known, and after picking up just three points from their opening three fixtures, Massimiliano Allegri's side are already facing an uphill battle to qualify for the last 16. A victory over Michel's Olympiakos is no small matter, but already for Juventus fans it feels like a win-or-bust game against the Greek side on Tuesday night.

"We need to remain calm. We must play a different game... no anxiety, no rush"

- Massimiliano Allegri

1-0 losses against Atletico Madrid and Olympiakos respectively leave Allegri's side third in Group A, three points behind both the sides that have already beaten them in this competition. A win against the Greeks on Tuesday will get them right back in the thick of the action; a loss would leave them desperate and almost dependent on other results. Allegri knows this, and has called for nerves of steel from his side: "We need to remain calm and not get carried away by what everyone is writing," the Juventus coach told reporters on Monday. "Tuesday evening will be an important test and we must play well and with great intensity. We need to win. We're playing for nearly everything [in terms of the group]. We have only three points and we must remedy this situation. But we must play a different game on a technical level to the one we played in Athens. No anxiety. No rush."

The call for calm is just what is needed. If Juventus can find a way to take three points against Olympiakos, their season will be quickly righted. If their domestic form is anything to go by, they should be more than capable: Allegri's side sit atop Serie A after ten games, three points ahead of their nearest rivals AS Roma. A 1-0 defeat to Genoa last Wednesday was unexpected, but Juventus quickly cemented their position with a 2-0 victory - courtesy of goals from Andrea Pirlo and Alvaro Morata - over Empoli this weekend. Allegri is right: if his side trust in their capabilities, three points should be there for the taking in Turin.

"Every time we play we are optimistic, we are Olympiakos and we want to win"

- Dimitris Diamantakos

Olympiakos, on the other hand, are enjoying a positive start to life in Group A, with wins over Atletico Madrid and Juventus - 3-2 and 1-0 respectively. Their only blemish has been a disappointing 2-0 loss to Malmo FF, but with six points allowing them to sit atop the table, Michel will know his side have given themselves a real chance of qualification. Quite rightly, their players also remain optimistic of their side's chances: "Every time we play we are optimistic. We are Olympiacos, we want to win and I think in the end this will pay off," said forward Dimitris Diamantakos. Defender Tasos Avlonitis remained cautious but positive about the game against Juventus: "We are coming up against an institution - it is a different level. But I think, given what we have already shown in the Champions League, we can get something in Turin."

Olympiakos' domestic form can hardly be scoffed at either, as they sit in a healthy second place in the Super League table. With seventeen points from eight games, the Greeks are just five points adrift of league leaders PAOK, although it must be said that anything short of first is a disappointment for the defending champions. Somewhat frustratingly, they did slip to a 0-0 draw with Asteras Tripolis this weekend to fall further behind - not the ideal preparation for arguably their biggest tie in this year's Champions League.

Allegri has admitted that he does not yet know what formation he will play on Tuesday night, due to doubts over the fitness of Kwadwo Asamoah and Angelo Ogbonna. The former AC Milan boss must also decide whether Alvaro Morata - who scored in the 2-0 win over Serie A rivals Empoli at the weekend - should continue up front in place of the out-of-form Fernando Llorente.

For Michel and Olympiakos, Jorge Benitez will miss the trip to Turin through injury. Alberto Botia and Alejandro Dominguez are both doubts, though the former could feature. Dutchman Ibrahim Afellay - on loan from Barcelona - could come into the starting line-up if Dominguez doesn't prove his fitness in time.
