Some disappointing injury news now, as reports have emerged that Juventus' left forward and Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah will be sidelined for at least the next three months as a result of knee surgery that he has undergone in the past few days, after suffering a serious injury during their Champions League clash against Greek side Olympiakos back in early-November.

As a result of this, he will miss next month's African Cup of Nations, which his native country Ghana are widely tipped to win the competition and will be expected to return to first-team action in March 2015. It is a shame, for the 25-year-old given the amount of first-team fixtures that he will miss over the period of recovery time. Juventus are top of their UEFA Champions League group, and this is Asamoah's first major injury for the league leaders since his £12million pound move from Udinese back in 2012.

A statement from the Italian giants confirmed the news, saying: "Kwadwo Asamoah underwent arthroscopic surgery in his left knee. The surgery was needed in order to repair cartilage lesion; the recovery time is estimated at no less than three to four months.
