Juventus managed to record a 2-1 victory over current UCL holders Real Madrid in front of a packed house at the Juventus Stadium. Here are the player ratings.

Juventus 4-3-1-2

Buffon 7

Tested on certain occasions and managed to deliver for the home side. Claimed balls into the box very well and gave great confidence to his defence. Not much he could do with Ronaldo's goal.

Lichtsteiner 6.5

'Forrest Gump' was his usual self hugging the touch line and getting forward. A good performance though he wasn't able to provide a devastating cross for one of his teammates to finish off like he usually does.

Bonucci 7.5

Been a remarkable season for Leonardo Bonucci, easily the best of his career, was in no way out of place on the stage of a UCL semi final. Solid shift, not much came from Bale and Ronaldo's chances were limited.

Chiellini 7.5

Not called The Gladiator for nothing, Chiellini once again manages to get himself wrapped up in a headband and full of blood. Left it all on the line.

Evra 5.5

Not the best performance from the Frenchman. Played the ball well when in possession however Madrid's biggest threat down the wings often came from his side. Beaten by Rodriguez on this occasion.

Marchisio 7.5

His usual self. Didn't stop putting pressure on Madrid's midfield and as we saw on alot of occasions, they would give the ball up allowing for a Juventus attack.

Pirlo 6.5

Not much came off for the veteran tonight however he did well to set the tempo of the game and control possession.

Sturaro 7

The 22yr old has featured on quite a few occasions over the past two months and looks to be firming as a solid option for Allegri's three man midfield. Their is the chance he won't feature in the second leg, given Paul Pogba should be fit by then. A performance that will impress Juventus fans.

Vidal 8.5

Man of the match. From the first minute to the last, the Chilean warrior played with a certain swagger, completing some risky passing and tackling, he was everywhere. Just the type of performance needed for the occasion, Madrid will have to do alot more to stop him if they're a chance in the second leg. Magnificent.

Tevez 8

An assist, a goal. Typical Tevez in a Juventus shirt. Visibily upset to be subbed off towards the end, gives his all for the team and would've loved to have finished off the result.

Morata 7.5

Juventus have themselves a classy attacker in Alvaro Morata, quick thinking, fast and still with so much untapped potential. Scored within the opening few minutes with a close range strike following Tevez's shot, to which the former Madrid man didn't celebrate.

SUBSTITUTES:

Barzagli 6.5, Llorente 6, Pereyra 6.

Real Madrid 4-4-2

Casillas 7

Managed to keep out Juventus with some long range shots. Lucky to see Llorente's late chance bobble straight into his arms.

Carvajal 5

Looked to create chances going forward however not to much effect. Gave away the penalty that gave Juventus the go ahead goal, in which he was lucky to escape without a card. Managed to pick up a yellow later in the game.

Pepe 5.5

Looked very shaky early on as Juventus' attack often got the better of the Madrid defenders. Like the rest of the Madrid team, settled into the game once they got their goal.

Varane 5

Not a great game from the youngster. Will look to put this behind him heading into the second leg at the Bernabeu. Lucky not to have been punished on more occasions.

Marcelo 6.5

One of Madrid's better performers. Full of energy and run down the left hand side.

Rodriguez 7

Should've scored a second for Madrid when his header smacked off the crossbar from close range. Created a few chances for the team and was arguably their liveliest threat going forward.

Ramos 4

Was thrown into central midfield and looked out of place all game. Turned over possesion constantly and provided nothing going forward.

Kroos 6.5

The German tried hard throughout and had a few chances from long range. Missed a true midfield partner to help spread the play and create opportunities.

Isco 5.5

Should've had an assist next to his name after putting in the cross for Rodriguez's missed header. Otherwise didn't have much of an impact throughout the match.

Bale 3.5

Very poor. Was almost unsighted. Put in a decent cross which narrowly missed Ronaldo however the Juventus defence had him comfortably in their pocket.

Ronaldo 7

Dangerous as always. Scored Madrid's only goal and had a few chances. Has done well each time he's played the Italian giants.

SUBSTITUTES:

Hernandez 5.5, Jese 6.
