Australian number one Matthew Ryan could be on his way to Roma with the Italian club set to pay Club Brugge €8m for the goalkeeper according to HNL.

Ryan moved to Club Brugge from the Central Coast Mariners ahead of the 2013/14 season and he has quickly established himself as the best goalkeeper in the league. The Australian has won the Belgium Pro League Goalkeeper of the Year in both his seasons with Brugge.

Ryan has also emerged as number one for his country, taking over from Mark Schwarzer. He played all of Australia's matches in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. Australia won the Asian Cup on home soil and Ryan was honoured with the Golden Glove for goalkeeper of the tournament.

It is believed Roma manager, Rudi Garcia is looking for a goalkeeper, a defender and a striker this summer as he looks to close the gap on Juventus in Serie A and prepares for another go at the UEFA Champions League. Ryan looks to be the answer to his goalkeeper problems and at 23 years old Ryan could be the Giallorossi's number one for many years to come.
