"I want to stay, everyone knows that." are the words the man himself gave to Inter Milan's official website. Mauro Icardi will remain at Inter Milan next season despite his club missing out on European football.

Having finished joint highest scorer in Serie A (level with Luca Toni), Icardi has inevitably been heavily linked with big money moves away from Serie A with Chelsea and Liverpool rumoured to be interested. However he's more than crushed any whispers on the street.

"All players want to be in the Champions League, but I'm happy here at Inter," is what Icardi told his club's official website. "I hope I can qualify for that competition next year."

The Nerazzurri had a very poor campaign but the only shining light in their season was the future Argentine international's goal-scoring exploits.

Inter will work to get back to European football next season and having their star man tied down to a new contract is exactly what they needed.

"I'm sure that with the boss (Roberto Mancini) we'll succeed. We've been working well for a good five or six months now, and we'll get better in pre-season."

One of the names set to dominate the gossip columns has taken his name off the market for at least one more summer.
