Torino have made a four million euro offer to Empoli for central midfielder Mirko Valdifiori, according to La Stampa.

The Azzuri however are hoping for an offer between six and seven million before considering before parting with their long-serving midfielder who has over 200 appearances at the club.

The 29-year-old made 38 appearances in all competitions last season and was one of Empoli's keys to their survival with eight Serie A assists to his name. He was recently rewarded with his first Italian national team cap at the end of March in a friendly against England where he replaced Marco Veratti with just over 20 minutes to go.

Valdifiori has also been linked with a move to currently managerless Napoli and still has two years to run on his deal at the Stadio Carlo Castellani. Torino may also need to start looking for a new central defender with interest continually growing for captain Kamil Glik who has been linked with no less than four Bundesliga clubs and three Premier League clubs.
