Inter Milan are trying to renew their squad for the upcoming season and according to several reports coming out of France, manager Roberto Mancini is reportedly looking to bolster his team with a Ligue 1 defender.

It seems as if the Milan outfit are targeting Rennes defender Edson André Sitoe, commonly known as Mexer, to bolster what was a very inconsistent defensive line over the past season. The 27-year-old possesses great aerial ability and his tackling is quite strong, two traits that would play perfectly in a tactical league such as the Serie A.

According to French portal Le Sport 10, both sides have held talks although nothing has been made official yet. If Inter decides to make an offer then Rennes are expected to listen and they could easily part ways with a defender for a deal worth around 5 million.

Mexer has been a defensive stalwart wherever he has played over the last few years but he was particularly impressive with his club this past season, appearing on 39 matches and scoring gour goals in what was his first campaign at the Ligue 1. He previously played for CD Nacional and SC Olhaenense in Portugal.
