Sampdoria's Stefano Okaka looks set to leave the club with major interest coming from Premier League side Southampton.

Sky Sports Italia report that Sampdoria club bosses will be in London tomorrow with Okaka's agent Claudio Vigorelli to finalise the players move to Southampton's St Mary's Stadium.

The 25-year-old forward bagged four goals and two assists in 32 Serie A appearances as Sampdoria secured a rather impressive seventh place finish under Sinisa Mihajlovic, who has since departed and taken the role of manager at AC Milan. Okaka made a further two appearances accompanied by an assist in the Coppa Italia.

Okaka, formerly of Roma, spent a short stint on loan with then Premier League side Fulham in the 2009-10 campaign. In eleven appearances with the Cottagers, the one-time Italian international scored twice before returning to the aforementioned Roma.

The striker has been with il Blucherchiati since the start of 2014 and is contracted to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris side for a further year. Sunderland and Crystal Palace have both also been linked to signing Okaka in recent days while Swansea City have shown interest in the past.
