German international striker, Miroslav Klose has confirmed that he will remain with Lazio for the final year of his contract.

The 36 year old had been linked with a move away from the club but he has confirmed on the club's Facebook page that he will stay in Rome.

"To play another season for Lazio is a decision that I made with the heart. My family and I are doing very well in Rome and at Lazio. The fans are amazing and pass on their love and warmth to us every day. They are truly unique. I also want to give my support to our Coach, who is a very special person, and to the whole club, to continue to develop the club’s image with a positive and winning path," said Klose

Klose was top scorer for Lazio last season with 16 goals (13 in Serie A and 3 in the Coppa Italia) and his experience will be vital as the club prepare for a run in the Champions League next season. The German, who broke the all-time World Cup goalscoring record last summer, has been at Lazio for four seasons and has scored over 50 goals for the club and the news he is staying will be a big boost to Stefano Pioli and Lazio.
