Fabio Borini could be living his last days in the Premier League and certainly, his last days as a member of Liverpool FC.

The Italian striker only played in 18 games this past season and he started only three Premier League games. He has never been able to settle in England ever since he joined Chelsea back in 2007 as a 16-year-old and he could be in line for a permanent return to his country as Lazio are one of the teams that has expressed interest in his signature.

Afer an impressive Serie A campaign that saw them end in third place - earning a UEFA Champions League berth for the upcoming season - Lazio is in need to strengthen their squad on both sides of the ball. Even though they will have Miroslav Klose on the roster for the 2015-16 calendar, the Roma-based needs to add more offensive power and Borini could be an interesting addition to the team.

Liverpool, on the other side, are keen to sell the striker who has become quite a problem for The Reds. After refusing to join either QPR or Sunderland on loan this past season, he has completely fallen out of favour with manager Brendan Rodgers and he's reportedly not on the team's plans for the next season. All those things could lead into a speedy transfer that should help both parties at this point - Lazio needs a striker and Borini is, apparently, eager to return home.

Even though no fees have been discussed and no agreement has been reported, it seems like a perfect match for both sides.
