Geoffrey Kondogbia looks to have decided his future as he was pictured earlier today signing documents with Internazionale Director Marco Fassone.

The Frenchman is set to sign a five-year deal with the Nerazzurri which will keep him at the San Siro until 2020, with the transfer fee expected to be around £22 million.

The medical is expected to be completed on Monday, after which the official announcement will be made.

With Monaco entertaining bids from a range of teams, including rivals Milan and Arsenal, it is shrewd business by Erick Thohir and the team at Inter to secure such a coup.

Kondogbia had been a bright spot of an entertaining Monaco side, having a particularly exceptional game away at Arsenal during the Champions League earlier this season.

At 22 years of age, it appears the former Sevilla man sees this as the right opportunity to move on in his career, and it seemed as though the Serie A was his preferred destination from the off.

A French international, he has made 49 appearances in total for Monaco since his 2013 move from Sevilla, and with the five year contract reported he would have plenty of time to rack up games in Milano.

Inter still in for Imbula?

At the same time as confirmation for Kondogbia came through, there was talk that Inter had also sealed a deal with Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, another Ligue 1 talent.

This would leave Il Biscione with one of the deepest midfields in the Serie A on paper, if it goes through, with the aforementioned duo complemented by Gary Medel, Mateo Kovacic, Xherdan ShaqiriMarcelo Brozovic, Hernanes, Fredy GuarinAssane Demoya Gnoukouri and Zdravko Kuzmanovic.

Kovacic heading for the exit door?

As mentioned, Inter will have a big midfield corp, and with the rumours surrounding a possible exit of Kovacic still swirling, this might just be the tipping point for Roberto Mancini.

A "#SaveKovacic" Twitter campaign seems to have done little to sway the Inter boardroom, and it is more likely than ever that they will feel in a position to be able to afford to lose the Croat.

An exciting beginning to the mercato for the Nerazzurri; spending somewhere in the region of €70million on Miranda, Imbula and Kondogbia if rumours are to be believed. Can they challenge Juventus and make an assault on the top three next season?
