Aleksandar Mitrović has been linked with various teams spread across Europe; Chelsea, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund to name just a few. However, it now appears that AS Roma have entered the race to sign Mitrović.

The 20-year-old Serbian international has impressed in the Belgian Pro League, scoring 16 and 20 in his first two league campaigns with RSC Anderlecht. He started off in his home land of Serbia; he signed his first professional contract with Partizan Belgrade, on a four-year deal.

He made his official debut for the club in a Champions League qualifier against Maltese side Valletta, scoring a goal nine minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Goals have come steadily, both in Serbia and Belgium

After 7 goals in 26 games, he earned himself a bigger move, and on Partizan's official website it was confirmed that Mitrović was sold to Belgian side Anderlecht €5 million, which is their record signing fee. Since joining in August 2013, Mitrović has gone onto score 44 goals in 90 appearances in all competitions.

He fired himself into the spotlight on 5 November 2014, Mitrovic scored an equalizing goal in the 90th minute in the UEFA Champions League against Arsenal and completed Anderlecht's comeback from 3-0 to 3-3.

Success with Serbia

Mitrović earned his first call up to the Serbian senior national team for a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Belgium where he played 69 minutes. Mitrović scored his first goal for the senior side in a 1-1 home draw against Croatia in another World Cup qualifier.

At just 20 years old, and with a goal scoring record of a goal every two games, the big names were bound to come calling. For a 20-year-old in the Belgian Pro League, he'll be very pricey. However off indications of his early career form, any club that wins the race for his signature will be picking up one of Europe's best strikers for the future.
