It is every footballer's dream to play for their country at the international level. To receive a call-up to the national team is one of the biggest accomplishments in one’s career and Brazilian goalkeeper Neto believes his time is now.

Juventus goalkeeper Neto is hoping his latest transfer to Turin will get him a call-up to Brazil’s National team. .

The Bianconeri recently acquired Neto via free transfer after his contract expired with his former club Fiorentina. The 26-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper believes he has done enough over his time in Florence to be able to represent his country; however it seems as if he will just have to do more to catch the eyes of his countrymen.

He has appeared six times for his country at the U-23 level, but has never made an appearance for the senior team. His most recent stint with Brazil was at the 2015 Copa America where he served as the third goalkeeper. He was later inserted into the first team but never saw the field.

Observation will be key

A change in scenery is beneficial to many and Neto believes this will help him get to the next level. Neto believes that the change in squads will help him succeed his goal in playing for the national team.

There is a great opportunity to learn at Juventus especially at the goalkeeper position. Being second in line to Gianluigi Buffon should help the young Brazilian obtain his goal. Being able to learn from one of the best goalkeepers to ever play is definitely a positive for anyone looking to learn.

Future with Juventus

Neto will no doubt be the number two goalkeeper in Turin but could expect some playing time similar to what former Juventus backup Marco Storari got. He would most likely see time in Coppa Italia matches, and games against bottom of the table teams.

Neto is years away from being a starter with the Bianconeri but Juventus should be pleased with what seems to be Buffon's replacement in a few years. He has already earned the right to be considered one of the top keepers in Italy.

The goalkeeper is no doubt a starter almost anywhere else in the world but with this move he has taken a step backwards. He loses out on playing time but puts himself in a great spot once Buffon retires. By the time he is the starter at Juventus, he should be considered for the starting goalkeeper job on the Brazilian senior team.
