Ivan Perisic's agent has been speaking to FantaGazzetta this week about his client's proposed move to Italian giants Inter.
Tonci Martic, his agent, believes that a deal is in the works, and could be finalised before next week.
The Croatian netted five times and assisted a further four as Wolfsburg laid claim to second place in the Bundesliga and reigned supreme in the DFB-Pokal.
A deal is imminent
“We’re on track, the signs are good," said Martic. "The two clubs are working to reach an agreement."
Perisic, who has been capped by the Croatian national team 38 times, is no stranger to the San Siro after netting Croatia's equaliser during their 1-1 draw with Italy back in November.
Martic believes that the deal could be "concluded within seven days" but could not comment further.
Perisic will join a long list of arrivals
Should a deal be struck with Wolfsburg within the next week, the Croatian will become the second arrival in a matter of days and the seventh of the summer.
He will join the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Stefan Jovetic, Miranda, Martin Montoya, Jeison Murillo and Jonathan Biabany who will debutise for Roberto Mancini's side come the start of the season.
Inter have taken advantage of the relaxation of Financial Fair Play rules announced by Uefa earlier this year and club CEO Erick Thohir has made it clear that it is categorically imperative that Inter secure Champions League football this year.
Mancini, who succeeded Walter Mazzarri in November, calmed proceedings at the club but his side struggled for consistency and ended the season languishing in 8th place. Their arch-rivals, Milan, finished in similarly harrowing fashion but both are aiming at a speedy return to the Champions League football by flexing their financial muscle.
It remains to be seen how Mancini will line his side up for the forthcoming season, though Perisic could play a prominent role.
