Serie A newcomers Bologna are eyeing up a potential move for Napoli midfielder Jonathan De Guzman, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The club are also keen on completing several loan deals before their Serie A opener against Lazio on August 23rd.

De Guzman, 27, has struggled for opportunities in Naples, yielding a paltry three goals last term as Napoli plunged down the division.

A potential coup

The Rossoblu earned promotion back to Serie A via the play-offs and will require further additions if they are to stay afloat in the division.

De Guzman started on only 12 occasions under Rafa Benitez last season and risks becoming further marginalised with the arrivals of Mirko Valdifiori and Allan.

The Dutchman was reported to have been on the brink on joining Olympique Marseille, but Marcelo Bielsa's resignation may bring an end to negotiations.

The ex-Swansea midfielder is reportedly tempted by the allure of regular first-team football, though a fee is yet to be agreed given Bologna are operating on a shoestring budget.

Further additions

The same source has also reported that the club are interested in securing the temporary services of several household names.

Inter, who have acquired an abundance of talent this summer, are looking to offload peripheral players in Ezequiel Schelotto -- who enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Chievo last term -- and 23-year-old Saphir Taïder, who featured 48 times for Bologna between 2011 to 2013.

Talented midfielder Omar El Kaddouri is also said to be surplus to requirements in Naples and the Rossoblu are willing to strike a loan deal with the Belgian.

The club are also keen to resigning mercurial midfielder Gaston Ramirez from Southampton. The Uruguayan has struggled to adapt to life in England and disappointed in a loan spell with Hull City last time out.
