Roma have rekindled their interest in 25-year-old Torino wing-back Bruno Peres, according to reports.

The capital club are set to lodge a bid in the region of €15 million for the Brazilian, who joined Torino from Santos for €2.2 million just over 12 months ago.

The Granata have already lost a key component in their squad with the departure of Matteo Darmian to Manchester United and it is yet to be confirmed whether Torino are open to selling the 25-year-old.

Roma are currently waiting for the sales of Mattia Destro and Marquinho to be finalised and are set to make an approach within the next fortnight.

A useful addition for Roma

With Roma on the verge of striking a deal with PSG for Lucas Digne, Rudi Garcia has turned his attention to Peres who, having become Giampiero Ventura's preferred right-wing back at Torino, could fill the left-back void at Roma.

The Frenchman has been flirting with the option of deploying Alessandro Florenzi at right-back -- who impressed in that role towards the end of last term -- but sees the Brazilian as the more adept defender.

Peres was instrumental to Torino success last campaign, with coach Ventura predicating his side's attack around the wide duo of the Brazilian and Darmian.

A big loss for Torino

Should Peres, like Darmian, wave farewell to the Turin based outfit, Ventura will have an uphill battle on his hands if he is to preserve Torino's tradition of confounding pre-season expectations.

He has been forced to operate on a shoestring budget and could do little to prevent the sale of Darmian to one of Europe's behemoths.

Ventura has already sought a replacement for the Italian international, however, with Atalanta right-back Davide Zappacosta acquired to help mitigate his departure.

Torino will yet again look for both wing-backs to provide the incision in attack and the loss of Peres would be a bitter one.
