Sampdoria have rejected Milan's offer of €10 million for Italian midfielder Roberto Soriano, according to Sky Italia.

Samp value their midfielder at €10 million but are unhappy by the Rossoneri's offer of two instalments of €5 million rather than €10 million upfront.

Soriano worked under Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic last term and the Serb is said to be a keen admirer of the midfielder.

The Italian netted four times in 29 outings from central midfielder last term, but is reportedly keen on a move to Milan.

However, Sky Italia believe that Milan are prepared to lodge a second bid for the midfielder and that it is inevitable that Soriano will don the famous red and black before the transfer window slams shut.

Samp exodus may continue

Should Soriano follow in the footsteps of last season's coach, he will join the likes of Samuel Eto'o, Pedro Obiang and Stefano Okaka to depart the Genoese outfit.

Eto'o, who proved a revelation for the Blucerchiati last term, has continued on his expedition around Europe, while Obiang has joined forces with Slaven Bilic in East London.

Okaka, meanwhile, jumped ship to Anderlecht in Belgium. Alessio Romagnoli, who spent last season on loan under Mihajlovic, returned to his parent club Roma before being farmed out to Milan.

Their exits have already been felt with the harrowing defeat the club suffered at the hands of Serbian minnows FK Vojvodina.

Milan adding quality to their midfield

Soriano, though a largely unknown entity outside the Italian borders, is a dynamic midfielder with an eye for goal.

The Italian would slot in seamlessly alongside the bullish Nigel de Jong and, given he and Andrea Bertolacci, who joined from Roma earlier in the summer, are of similar style, both would make Milan a domineering force in midfield once again.

The Italian netted against Milan at the San Siro last season, latching onto a deft Eto'o pass.
