Torino's Emiliano Moretti, Fabio Quagliarella, and Daniele Baselli combined for a trio of goals from the 67th minute to the 77th to stampede past away challengers Fiorentina in Serie A league action.

Good start for Fiorentina

Fiorentina had originally led, beginning in the 10th minute after Marcos Alonso scored a volley with a right-footed strike past Daniele Padelli. Alonso on his goal took advantage of Padelli being off balance from a save on Nikola Kalinic's header from the left side of the box.

In the 14th, Kalinic again nearly scored a header, with Padelli making another brilliant save. This time, there was no rebound available for Alonso or his team mates to tap in and double the advantage for manager Paulo Sousa's club.

The closest chance for Torino in the first half was a Quagliarella header that Ciprian Tatarusanu magically saved with a leaping effort. It certainly was a tight first 45, but Fiorentina clearly held the edge.

Torino explode for three scores

After leading for over half the match, Fiorentina collapsed within minutes.

Moretti started the charge for Torino in the 67th minute, knocking a left-footed strike from the center of the penalty area. He beat Tatarusanu to the top right corner with his shot.

After just a minute of celebration of their equalizer, Torino took a 2-1 lead. Bruno Peres fed a ball through to Quagliarella at the top right of the box, and the 32 year-old Italian sent the ball across his body with a right footed shot that made its way into the bottom left corner of Fiorentina's net.

When it seemed all over, Daniele Baselli put icing on the cake with a screamer from outside the box. The shot put Torino up 3-1, and you can imagine the pandemonium echoing throughout the home crowd in the stands.

il Toro close it out with success

Fiorentina got their final chance in the 85th minute, as Giuseppe Rossi, who had come on for Josip Ilicic, struck a left footed effort off target. A Giuseppe Vives header on the other end was closer to scoring than Rossi's attempt.

Qualiarella nearly added insult to injury in the fourth of five stoppage time minutes, launching a strike from outside the penalty area that was luckily saved at the bottom right corner.

While Fiorentina may have controlled the tempo and pace of the match with their 69% possession, Torino played much better defense, evidently, tackling more accurately and at the right times.

It was a real shame Daniele Padelli didn't pick up the clean sheet, however he and Torino pick up a valuable three points in Serie A league play. They now sit with two wins in two matches, tied atop the league table with Chievo Verona, Sassuolo, Inter Milan, and Palermo.
