The last transfer window yielded many moves for many clubs big or small in the Serie A. One of the most active calcio clubs was Serie A champions, Juventus.

Now with the transfer window slowly creeping up, one of Juventus’ reported transfer targets may be set to snub them for Serie A counterparts Sassuolo.

Bryan Cristante, 20, who is currently with Benfica, has emerged as a target for the Bianconeri. However the young midfielder could reportedly move to Sassuolo instead of joining the Turin club.

The midfielder hasn’t had the opportunity to really show what he can offer, not receiving regular minutes with Benfica, which is reportedly one reason Juventus may also pass on the 20-year-old.

Past Experience

Cristante has spent time in Serie A when he was with the AC Milan youth academy before making the move to Benfica.

The youngster is familiar with Juventus’ current manager Massimiliano Allegri, having been a part of Milan when Allegri was the manager. Cristante made three appearances under Allegri from 2011-2013.

Making Sense of it all

Cristante has not played many games since joining Benfica in 2014. He has only played a total of five games for the first-team so he hasn’t been given a chance to showcase his talents.

It makes sense for Juventus to want to see more from the midfielder. Although Allegri has an insight on the 20-year-old, much has changed since he has last seen him in action and it makes sense to see more from a potential investment.

As for Sassuolo, it seems as though they would like to be the team to give him the chance to play with hopes of them cashing in later on.

The youngster is definitely a prime target for teams with his age working in his favour. Although a move to a big club like Juventus would be big for him, a move to Sassuolo would most likely give him a better opportunity to play.

Only time can tell what will happen next. Until then Juventus will have to focus on climbing back up the standings and defending their Serie A title.
