Five Serie A clubs were in the pots as both the Champions League Round of 16 and Europa League Round of 32 draws took place at lunchtime today.

Last seasons runners up Juventus and Roma represented Italy in the Champions League pot while Napoli, Fiorentina and Lazio were all part of the Europa League pot.

Champions League contingent face two past winners

Roma welcome 10 time winners Real Madrid to the Stadio Olimpico for the first leg on the 17th February. The sides last met competitively in the 2007/08 Champions League. The Giallorossi came out on top on both occassions winning 4-2 on aggregate. The pair faced up in last summers International Champions Cup held over in the United States. After 90 minutes, the game was goalless before the Bernabeu outfit won 7-6 on penalties following a goalless extra time.

Juventus, as aforementioned fell at the last hurdle last season finishing as runner's up to Barcelona. Juventus welcome German Champions Bayern Munich on the 23rd of February. The Bianconeri were on the receiving end of a ruthless Bayern the last time they played in 2009/10. The Bavarians crushed Juventus 4-1. 

Europa League clubs not given any kinder a draw

Lazio travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray on February 18th in what will be the third meeting between the sides. The clubs last met in the 2001/02 Champions League, the season after the Turks lifted the Europa League, in it's old format the UEFA Cup.

Fiorentina have an equally as tricky tie against Tottenham whom they play host to first before travelling to London the following week. The sides met one another at the same stage of the competition and La Viola progressed at Spurs expense winning 3-1 on aggregate.

Napoli drew Villarreal setting up a fifth and sixth meeting between the two in the process. The clubs were in the Champions League group stages with one another a few years ago with both recording a 2-0 win over the other. Prior to the last two games, They met in the Europa League knockout stage also the season before in 2010/11 with the Spanish outfit progressing on aggregate.
