According to reports by Football Italia, Napoli are looking to sign Norway midfielder Markus Henriksen. The Serie A club are reportedly looking for a deal around 7 million Euros.

Best unknown midfielder in Europe?

Henriksen has had a good year for the Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. He has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances and he has the best goalscoring percentage of any midfielder in Europe at the moment. He has also picked up three assists in the Eredivisie, adding to the stigma of the Dutch league of a league filled with young talent.

Henriksen also got a call up in the Euro 2016 qualifying game for Norway and has made 24 appearances for his national side. He has scored two goals in those appearances.

He has managed to stay under the radar up to this point but now he is at a point in his career where he is getting interest. He is at the highest transfer value of his career so far and some big teams will come calling such as Napoli.

More midfield depth for Napoli

If the reports are true that Napoli are set to make the move then they would add another midfielder into the many that Maurizio Sarri currently has in his side.

In all honesty it won't be hard for Henriksen to getting any major playing time for Napoli, his attacking presence is too good to leave on the bench. His attacking complement could be compared to Napoli's best midfielder in Marek Hamšík. Having both of those two on the pitch at the same time for Napoli would make the Partnenopei even more dangerous than they are now.

But with the depth of Napoli's midfielders it could be a problem but we will have to see once the Norweigan comes to Naples.

Napoli are currently third in Italy in terms of goals scored and are tied for second with Fiorentina in the table and only one point off leaders Inter Milan
