Sassuolo takes the lead early on but Napoli recovers

It was a stunning start to the game as Sassuolo scored within the first five minutes to take the lead. It all started when Raul Albiol brought down Nicola Sansone in the penalty box and the away team was awarded a penalty. Diego Falcinelli stepped up and shot the ball past Pepe Reina, who went the opposite way, and gave Sassuolo the 1-0 lead in Naples.

But Napoli struck back with an equaliser about 15 minutes later when Jose Callejon nodded a goal from Lorenzo Isigne's cross to tie the game up for Napoli. It was Callejon's first Serie A goal of the season and it could not have come at a more perfect time.

Higuain gives Napoli the lead for good

The goal seemed to give Napoli a new found confidence in attack and the hosts started to pelt the Sassuolo goal with shot after shot. Higuain found himself on the end of a Marek Hamsik and the Argentine did not miss from close range as he gave Napoli the 2-1 lead. That was the score at halftime as the two teams headed into the locker room.

Coming off a foul by Kalidou Koulibaly, Sassoulo had a set piece chance and the ball was swung in to substitute Lorenzo Pellegrini headed the ball just wide of the post as Sassuolo came so close to an equalizer

But then Higuain finished off the game for the hosts as he was able to slide the ball into the corner three minutes into stoppage time to finish off the game and seal all three points for Napoli.
