Since arriving in Paris from Palermo in 2011, Salvatore Sirigu has been the starting goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain.

However this season the 29-year-old lost his starting job to German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and with transfer season among Europe, PSG has gotten some calls regarding Sirigu.

The former starter would no doubt welcome a move to another club if it meant he would receive playing time but it all depends if that club is willing to meet his demands.

Possible Return to Italy

Serie A club Torino has been rumoured to be a team interested in purchasing Sirigu from PSG.

The Italian club has contacted the French giants about the availability of the Italian international and a meeting has reportedly been scheduled between the two sides according to Tuttosport.

Although Sirigu wants to be a starter again, the keeper still wants his demands to be met.

The keeper has reportedly asked for a salary of €2 million per year, a wage which Torino cannot afford meaning they would need the Parisians to help out along the way.

It is worth noting that the goalkeeper is under contract until 2018.

Playing Career

The Italian goalkeeper from Sardinia has made a few stops in his career with the most notables being Palermo and Paris Saint-Germain.

Since 2011 he has made 182 appearances and has posted 80 shutouts for PSG.

The Italian has also served as Gianluigi Buffon’s backup for the Italian national team. He has seen game action for Italy due to injuries to the aging Buffon and has played quite well when given the chance.

As of now, Sirigu is next in line to take over goalkeeping duties for the Azzurri once Buffon decides to call it a career.

Over his time in France, Sirigu has won three consecutive league titles along with being voted Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year twice.
