Palermo lynchpin Franco Vazquez has vowed to save Palermo and expressed his desire to link up with free-scoring Juventus forward Paulo Dybala again.

After another standout season last term, Vazquez had been largely linked to Juventus, Milan and Inter with other interest coming from England also.

The 26-year-old surprisingly stayed with the Rosanero for this season while the aforementioned Dybala joined champions Juventus in a deal worth in excess of €30 million.

Vazquez the saviour

The Argentine born-Italian international has admitted in an interview with Gazetta dello Sport that "for now" he must be thinking about "keeping Palermo up."

Afterwards, he spoke of his future and confirmed that he "can't decide" who to join whether it be one of the aforementioned interested parties "or another big team."

The Stadio Renzo Barbera outfit sit 14th, 6 points clear off the relegation zone but have endured a torrid spell in which a number of managers have been at the helm, one of whom twice.

Wants Dybala re-union

Vazquez also spoke about former teammate and "friend" Paulo Dybala in the interview and implied that one day he'd like to link back up with him as they "did great things together."

Together the dynamic duo fired Palermo to a very respectable 11th place finish in their first season back in Italy's top flight, with Vazquez providing, Dybala was scoring left, right and centre in what was, for many, one of the 2014/15 seasons best partnerships.

Quaison the heir to the throne

With a summer departure somewhat inevitable for the former Belgrano attacking midfielder, he has singled out Swedish youngster Robin Quaison as heir to his throne.

The 22-year-old was subject to interest from a few Premier League sides in summer of 2014 but Palermo won the race and their track record for growing unknowns presumably played a big part in his decision. Other examples of players they've progressed include Javier Pastore and Edinson Cavani, both of whom are now plying their trade for Paris St. Germain.
