Napoli have made a midfield signing as they have signed Atalanta's Alberto Grassi for an undisclosed fee. However, for the near future, Napoli may be without their new signing for a while as he suffered a knee injury in training.

Grassi has appeared in 13 games for Atalanta and will look to break into the Napoli rotation. But a injury could delay his debut in Naples.

Horrible start to his Napoli career

It has been a nightmare start to his Napoli career for Alberto Grassi. In his first training session with Napoli, Grassi reportedly suffered a knee injury and will have an MRI tomorrow. It is a big blow to Napoli as they have lost their newest signing before he even came on the pitch.

If it's a serious knee injury then Grassi will most likely be out for the rest of the season. It's tough luck for Napoli but injuries are things many teams have to deal with.

Adding youth in the midfield

Napoli are incredibly deep in the midfield and have one of the best midfields in Serie A

With the likes of Marek Hamsik, Jose Callejon, Allan, and Jorginho on the team it could be hard for Grassi to break in. But this is a move for the future. With all of the regular midfielders getting older, having some youth in the team is a good move. Nobody knows how Maurizio Sarri is going to play Grassi and how much he will play him. Napoli is very deep at midfield and it may take injuries and some transfers for Grassi to get some playing time.

Grassi is not a goal scorer as he had not scored a goal in the two seasons he has played in Atalanta, he would be a player that can control the midfield behind the attacking mids and the forwards.
