With heavy fog forecast to hit the MAPEI Stadium around kick off time, scheduled for 20:45pm local time Sassuolo's home tie with Roma may be postponed.

Five points seperate Roma and the neroverdi in 5th and 7th respectively going in to match day 23 of the Serie A season. While Roma have failed to find last season's form, Sassuolo look a shoe-in for a European spot this term with many big wins particularly over reigning champions Juventus and more recently Inter Milan.

Not the first time it's happened

Sassuolo's game with Torino was postponed for the same reason in December.

Both captains took the joint decision alongside the referee to call the game off with visibility so low that goalposts were barely visible from the half way line.

The rescheduled game took place in the middle of January and Franco Acerbi cancelled out Torino youngster Andrea Belotti's 22nd minute strike just before half time in the eventual 1-1 draw.

Debut may have to wait for Perotti

Roma deadline day signing Diego Perotti was in line to make his debut but may have to wait until Sunday's home tie with Sampdoria

The 27-year-old Argentine joined the giallorossi on loan for a fee of €1 million for the remainder of the season with the capital club obliged to cough up a further €9 million in the summer.

In a lengthy unveiling interview, Perotti confirmed he was "here to give 100 per cent" and admitted that the move is a "huge step" for him. "I'm really pleased to be here" he continued. Furthermore, he will undoubtedly go down well with the fans if he keeps up his promise of "giving everything" he has.

A postponement would however help an injury struck Roma who have Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Florenzi, Vasilis Torosidis, Lucas Digne all unavailable recover.
