This season has been relatively a roller-coaster ride for Roberto Mancini’s men. Inter Milan were for a brief moment leading the Serie A to now sitting fourth only five points behind third place Roma who are occupying the illustrious Champions League qualification spot which in turn is a must for Inter Milan.

Inter Milan legend Luis Figo spoke about the importance of Inter's return to Champions League football during an interview at Laureus World Sports Award, Figo firmly believes Inter, “Can’t be satisfied” with Europa League qualification.

During his time with the Rossoneri Figo made 105 appearances for Inter over 2005-2009 seasons, winning four Scudetti and one during the scandalous claciopoli period.

Figo dodged to answer questions on current Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini as he believes he is "not the best person to talk about the coach”, though, he spoke about his decisions over the transfer market, Mancini spent, “100 million on the transfer market this season." However Figo continued and made it clear that Inter, “can’t be satisfied with qualification for the Europa League.”

Five finals to play

As mentioned, Inter are sitting fourth and still fighting alongside Roma for the final Champions League spot. Inter have not played Champions League football since 2012, which makes this run-in to the end of the season is imperative for Mancini’s men to take third place.

23-year-old Inter captain Mauro Icardi has come out and said he wants to “lift trophies with Inter” he also dreams to “become a club legend like Javier Zanetti.” Icardi, who now has 50 goals for the Nerazzurri is not losing hope in finishing third, “we have to aim for third place now,” the Argentine forward also mentioned Inter need to be back to where they belong and in his eyes need to “start playing European football again.”

Inter Milan have five games to play and need to show the hunger they had just when they were sitting top of the Seria A. Icardi is one of the key players to force this charge and a player of his quality will lead the neroazzuri back on the European stage.
