Torino have reached an agreement with Sunderland over midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini a report from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio details.

A fee of €2 million has been agreed with personal terms still needing to be agreed between Giaccherini - who has one year remaining on his current deal at the Stadium of Light - and the Granata.

The likelihood of a transfer from Wearside are high, with his agent Furio Valcareggi telling Tutto Mercato "The scenarios for the future are good – we’re going to take him away from Sunderland, the conditions are known and there is then the need to make a big agreement" just hours before Di Marzio's report was released.

Plenty possible destinations

The 31-year-old put in some fine performances for Italy at Euro 2016 and it is reported that Torino aren't the only potential suitors. Fiorentina have been linked as have Bologna, who he enjoyed a succesful loan spell with last season. Furthermore, despite his struggles in the Premier League, he has been linked with a move to Antonio Conte's Chelsea.

The diminutive midfielder certainly isn't short of talent but it is widely agreed that his size is what caused his Premier League misery despite being technically and skillfully sound.

With Bologna last term he notched up seven goals in 28 Serie A appearances and was one of the rossoblu's star men.

Alessio Cerci has been linked with a loan move to Bologna and albeit not a central midfielder primarily, he may be the man that replaces Giaccherini's magic Sky Italia believe.

Cerci has endured a torrid time at Atletico Madrid struggling to nail down a first team place since his 2014 move from Torino and has had loans with both AC Milan and most recently Genoa but has failed to produce the goods that earned him his big move to La Liga.

The space left by Giaccherini may not be the only one needing filled with Amadou Diawara looking highly likely to depart with many of Europe's finest courting the 18-year-old midfielder.
