Bologna have completed the signing of Ladislav Krejci from Sparta Prague for a reported €4million.
Krejci travelled over to Italy yesterday, to undergo his medical ahead of his move from Sparta Prague. The winger will be become the first ever Czech to ever play for Bologna.
Bologna, who finished 14th in Serie A last term released a short statement to confirm the capture of Krejci: “FC Bologna 1909 announces the outright signing of Sparta Prague attacker Ladislav Krejcí,”
Veltri also added that they consider Krejci “one of the most interesting talents born in the 1990s to come out of Eastern Europe".
Red alert
The left-footed wizard, Krejci, came to Bologna’s attention when he scored and assisted to knock fellow Serie A outfit, Lazio, out of last season’s Europa League.
The Europa League has become a stage for the Czech International to showcase his skills. In 27 games, Krejci has contributed eight goals and four assists, including two goals and two assists in last seasons competitions - helping Sparta Prague performed above expectations to reach the last eight.
Unfortunately, his four goals and seven assists in 26 league games couldn’t prevent Sparta Prague from missing out on the league title for the second consecutive season.
Overall, the 24-year-old played 188 times for the Czech club where he managed a total of 37 goals and 35 assists.
He won three five major honours in the Czech Republic with Sparta Prague. They included the Czech First League and Czech Supercup twice as well as one Czechoslovak Cup in his seven seasons.
Czech national team
The winger earned his first national call up in 2012 at the age of 20 when he featured against Slovakia in a 3-0 win.
Krejci played nine times for Czech Republic in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with one goal and one assist to his name.
His major tournament debut at Euro 2016 seen him start all three of the Czech Republic’s Group D games but regrettably he couldn’t guide his team to the knockout stages of the tournament after they could only manage to pick up one point.
The new Bologna man’s international record stands at four goals along with three assists in 24 games.
