Gabriel Barbosa's agent has revealed that his client joined Inter because the Nerrazurri were more interested than Juventus and their project attracted the young Brazilian more than Juventus', labelling the project as 'marvellous.'

The 20-year-old recently joined Frank de Boer's side from Brazilian giants Santos for a fee in the region of €27 million, amidst interest from Scudetto winners Juventus and Premier League champions Leicester.

Juve had only a proposal

Gabigol's agent Wagner Ribeiro told Brazilian radio station Radio Bandeirantes that Massimiliano Allegri's men had only advanced a proposal, leaving he and the 'player awaiting our (their) answer'.

He also clarified that from Juventus' side, nobody came to hold negotiations with the Rio Olympics star, who helped Brazil win gold by beating Germany in the final. Ribeiro told that: "While with Inter we can already perceive a certain warmth."

The agent said that the President arrived for dinner and wanted to hold talks with the forward, such that he could persuade Gabigol into joining the Milan based outfit. He said that: "The new owners told me that they want to do with Inter what has already been done with Manchester City and Chelsea."

Gabigol's agent refered to Inter's project as 'marvellous' and stated that his client would be one of its 'great protagonists'. He also admitted that new Inter boss Frank de Boer ended up being 'an important factor in the negotiations'.

The Brazilian set to shine?

The 20-year-old, who has the ability to play as a striker, on the left or on the right, made ten appearances for Santos in the Campeonato Brasileiro last season, scoring five times.

Along with Gabigol, Inter also succeeded in acquiring the services of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario for a €40 million fee.

Inter, who have failed to win even a single game in the opening two Serie A games, are currently 17th in the league table.
