19 year old, Roberto Chen, has spoken of his delight at signing for La Liga side, Malaga at his official unveiling: "I’m so happy and extremely grateful to get the chance to join a club like Málaga CF. The team has achieved so much in Spain and Europe. This year has been great for me as I achieved big things with my national team, and I hope to continue this success with Málaga CF.”
The centre back, who signed for a fee of £500 000, stated in his first press conference that he was certain that he wanted to move to the club when he heard of the proposal: After the Copa de Oro this proposal came up and I never had any doubt in saying yes. Hopefully I can do well here."
Chen took the time to describe his playing style: I am a centre back who can sometimes play at right back and I give my all on the pitch. I am a warrior who is going to fight every minute in order to play and my message to the supporters is that they can count on me, as I’ll give everything.”
He added: “I’m here to learn because I am still young and have so much to learn, and that will help me grow as both a professional footballer and a person. This is a dream, so I hope to take maximum advantage of the opportunity and create a good impression,”
