Barcelona approached this game having dropped points last weekend, whilst Sevilla had suffered back to back defeats heading into the game but it was the home side that took the lead when Alberto Moreno put them ahead.

The lively full-back finished off a slick move and saw his effort deflect off Marc Bartra and past Victor Valdes in the back of the net. The Barca keeper was furious with his defence after failing to clear the ball in the build up on numerous occasions.

It was almost 2-0 moments later as Ivan Rakitic floated a costless-kick over the entire Barca defence to find Carlos Bacca, but his header came back off the inside of the post. Once again Valdes was evidently annoyed but his team-mates would ensure that they would make the same mistakes again as Barcelona produced a superb comeback.

The Catalans took full advantage of the slippery and wet conditions as they produced a quick counter attack that saw Lionel Messi win a costless-kick. The Argentine forward took it and found Alexis Sanchez, who headed home the leveller.

The goal on second look seemed to be offside but there was certainly nothing controversial about Barca's second as Messi took one touch before firing a diagonal volley past Beto.

Messi would then add another just before the hour mark after more good work from Andres Iniesta. The four-time Ballon d'Or winner slotted home past Beto in the most delightful style and gave his side the edge.

Visiting coach Tata Martino then introduced Cesc Fabregas and he would add a fourth, chipping over Beto following neat work from Alexis Sanchez.

The victory for Barcelona sees them go back on top through goal difference but it remains a close title race with all three teams, Atletico, Real Madrid and Barca all on 57 points.
