HALF TIME: Referee blows for the interval here at the Nou Camp with plenty of chances for each team. Very entertaining half.

42' Laporte does well to stop Messi in his tracks and sheilds the ball out of play.

39' Incredible keeping from Iraizoz keeps the score at 0-0. A rally of save from the big man in the Athletic goal keeps Barcelona frustration growing.

1' We have kick-off here at the fantasic ground like the Nou Camp.

19.59. The teams are out on the pitch, FC Barcelona - Real Sociedad kick-off is imminent.

19.55. We are 5 minutes away from kick-off.

19.11. Athletic Bilbao starting XI: Iraizoz; De Marcos, San José, Laporte, Balenziaga; Iturraspe, Moran, Herrera; Susaeta, Aduriz, Muniain

19:07. FC Barcelona starting XI: Pinto, Alves, Bartra, Mascherano, Adriano, Song, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi and Alexis

18.50. Team news for the game between FC Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao will arrive in about 10 minutes.

18.50. The last meeting between these two sides was in December when Bilbao ran away with a 1-0 victory.

18.45. Similar to Barcelona, Bilbao are currently going through a minor injury crisis. Ibai Gómez, Kike Sola, Carlos Gurpegi and Mikel Rico are all out injured meaning Ernesto Valverde will likely field the same XI that played in the 3-0 triumph against Málaga last week. Mikel Rico had been on course to recover in time for this game from his sprained ankle injury, but suffered a setback midweek and was subsequently ruled out by the medical team.

18.40. In midfield, Sergio Busquets is suspended meaning the unreliable Alex Song will start at pivote. As usual, Martino has a choice of four attacking midfielders for the two available spots. Andrés Iniesta has been one of few players to not receive any criticism in the last few weeks and you'd expect him to start against Bilbao. Cesc Fàbregas is currently in an extremely average run of form so I'd elect Xavi Hernández to partner Iniesta in midfield. Fàbregas along with Sergi Roberto will start on the bench. Up front, Messi will start in the centre proving Fàbregas does play from the bench. If Fàbregas is selected, Martino may shuffle Messi over to the right but reports say the Argentine striker doesn't like that particular position. Either side of the central Messi, I'd expect Martino to field both of Pedro and Alexis Sánchez. The two wingers have shown good, consistent form all season and can count themselves unlucky that they haven't started the big games.

18:20: The biggest part of news for the Barcelona camp is that a B-team player has now got himself selected for the Giants. Sergi Gomez, The 22-year-old defender has been brought into the squad to replace Carlos Puyol who is out with an injury. There are mounting injuries in the Barcelona defence which some may say is why they are leaking goals. Victor Valdes, Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique and Carlos Puyol are all sidelined with Marc Barta being given the all clear to play. Another big hit for this Barca side is that one of their major attacking threats Neymar, has been ruled out for the rest of the season in midweek. There is no surprise that Pinto has kept his place in between the posts for the Barcelona side and will be hoping for a fairly quiet game in the Barcelona goal. Adriano will replace Jordi Alba at Left Fullback and will be the same partnership in the centre as it was in the Copa Del Rey final. Marc Bartra and Javier Mascherano. At right full-back Montoya will probably be dropped with Martino looking for Dani Alves to produce.

18.05. However, If you are looking to bounce back positivley, Athletic Bilbao wouldn't be your first choice team to come up against. Bearing in mind it was the first team to give a taste of league defeat to Barcelona this season, If Athletic win and make it 4 losses on the bounce for Barcelona, things would be looking worse.

18:00. A week and a half ago, FC Barcelona were on course do to the treble. Just behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga, Semi-Finals of the Champions League against the same opponents and in the Copa Del Rey final against Real Madrid, things were looking positive. Now, after defeats in both the Del Rey Final and Champions League Semis and falling behind in the race for the La Liga title, Barcelona will be looking to be positive, and pick up as many points as they can through until the end of the season. A run of three consecutive defeats, which is unlike the Spanish giants have made them futher away from league leaders. Barcelona will be looking to get back into winning ways and not let themselves drift too far away.

18.00. Hello and welcome to the live coverage of this La Liga match-up between FC Barcelona - Athletic Bilbao brought to you by VAVEL. Team news will be up shortly.
